Introduction
The session aimed to Introduce the learners to the problem-based learning approach, the importance of PBL, the steps of PBL, and various scenarios where PBL has been used. Also, the session was able to guide the user on how to identify societal problems that can be solved using computer systems.
Session Summary
Prof. Onditi introduced the PBL learning mode, the steps of the PBL learning approach, and the PBL framework. He also discussed various societal problems that can be solved using computer systems and the PBL approach. They also discussed the six core competencies of the PBL approach and how they can implement them in their proposed solutions. The competencies were: authenticity, active engagement, ability to solve complex problems, deep and sustained learning, application, and efficient use of working tools.
