Introduction
The session aimed to Introduce the learners to the legal aspects of computing systems. This was important because ss technology continues to evolve, so do the legal challenges and considerations that come with it. The learners needed to be aware of the legal challenges in computer systems so that they are able to be responsible computer professionals in the future.
Session Summary
Dr. Lando had a discussion on the main legal areas that the students should be aware of that are related to computer systems. The main areas he covered were:
- Protecting your innovation – copyrights, patents, trademarks
- Data Protection Act 2019
- Cyber Crimes Act
- Compute Misuse Act
- Non-disclosure agreements, non-circumvent agreement
- Contracting, litigation and compliance with industry standards
